Different types of Lock modes in SQL Server.

The following are various types of lock modes in SQL Server.

They are.

  1. S  –> Shared Lock.
  2. X –> Exclusive Lock.
  3. U –> Update Lock.
  4. I  –> Intent Lock (IS –>Intent Shared-lock,                                                                                    IX –> Intent Exclusive lock,                                                                                                          SIX –> Shared Intent Exclusive lock.)
  5. Sch –> Schema Lock (Sch -M (Schema Modification), Sch – S (Schema Stable)).
  6. BU –> Bulk Update Lock.
